Amazon.com - Las Vegas Home to new Distribution Center - ProLogis Park North

<

Online giant Amazon.com is opening their Southwest US Distribution Center here in the Las Vegas Valley. They've signed a 5 year lease for $8.6 million on 283,920 square feet of space in ProLogis Park North, in North Las Vegas. They are taking over half of Building 16's 513,000 square feet, which is enough to cover 13 football fields and have room to spare. The remainder had already been leased to Monster Cable just a few months ago. Amazon also has an option to take over the entire building located in the 102 acre Master Planned Business Park.

Amazon is gearing up to open in October in time for the holiday season. They will bring a variety of operational positions that will total 300 permanent and 200 seasonal jobs to Las Vegas. This is not to mention any additional spinoff jobs created by having the facility here. All this will add to the diversity in the local economic base, as Las Vegas continues to grow well beyond it's hospitality and gaming roots.

This is just one of the many new developments that are happening here in the Vegas Valley that will add to employment opportunities, with many more on the way. From building and construction on Boulder Highway, to redevelopment projects proposed in Henderson, there's quite a bit happening or being planned all around Las Vegas.

Hi, Roberta - 13 football fields?  That's not what we would refer to as 'cozy' is it? ha

Jessie: Yes, I think that's on the verge of roomy, or the new term for large kitchens I see being used on listings...commodious! LOL
