Roberta's Las Vegas Real Estate Blog: Las Vegas World's Fastest Casino Opening

Las Vegas World's Fastest Casino Opening

This was the fastest opening and closing for a casino. It was on the site of the Castaways (formerly the Showboat), now owned by Station Casinos.  Castaways was imploded in January of 2006 and nothing has been built to replace it yet.  According to Nevada gaming regulations, a casino has to be opened for 8 hours every 2 years.  So, today they brought in a portable casino in a trailer, to satisfy the regulation.

For an up close panoramic view of the entire luxurious facility, click here.  It will be closed and gone by 4PM today.

That's amazing!  What they won't do to stay within regulations, huh?

That is too funny, I'm guessing people still lost there money just as fast as before though.

Elizabeth:  It probably wasn't very profitable but it met the regulations.

Todd:  I'm sure their money went just as fast!

Rey: Thanks for stopping by, I'm glad you enjoyed it.

haha... too funny.  Interesting regulation.  Isn't it amazing how people will find even the obscure little trailers to gamble in.  I like my nickels too much, which should tell you the last time I was on a casino floor. :)

Jesse & Kathy:  It is a very interesting regulation.  I guess this wasn't the first time that the portable casino was brought in to meet the regulation.

Roberta, Las Vegas has some of the coolest stories. Imploding buildings every now and then has to keep life very interesting.
