The lobby in the Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas has been transformed into a holiday wonderland with a Gingerbread Village and a Teddy Bear Village that is free and open to the public. This is an annual event that is in its ninth year.
The Gingerbread Village is modeled after a 20th century Swiss settlement. The pastry team started building in August and everything in the display is edible including the mountains and the figures. It even has a working carousel made of chocolate and sugar. The total production time for the whole display is over 500 hours and took 2 days to assemble in the lobby. Everything in the display was up for sale and most has been sold ,according to the "real estate listings" sheet. The houses went for $250-$300 and the carousel was listed for $2500. All proceeds go to the Nevada Cancer Institute Buyers have to wait until after Christmas to pick up their real estate because they are on display until Christmas Day.
The hotel's Teddy Bear Village features teddy bears and other stuffed animals from FAO Schwarz. There is a Teddy Bear family awaiting Santa's arrival. There are displays on The North Pole, Land of the Misfit Toys and The Jungle among a few. The Teddy Bear Village is on display until Dec.20 and then the bears will also be for sale on the last day. 10 percent of the profits from this sale will go to Nevada Cancer Institute
What a wonderful and delicious place to take the family for a relaxing look at real estate and teddy bears.
