Roberta's Las Vegas Real Estate Blog: Las Vegas Ice Skating

Las Vegas Ice Skating

Time to put on your mittens and hat and lace up your ice skates and head to Lake Las Vegas  .  Well, you might not need the mittens or hat but for the fourth year, Lake Las Vegas will have a floating Rockefeller Center style ice skating rink that will officially open this Friday, November 16.

As part of the holiday opening, there will be a tree lighting ceremony along with a visit from Santa Claus at 7PM.  Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory will offer free hot chocolate to keep everybody warm.  After the tree lighting, members of Athletic Arts Academy ice skating institute will perform on the rink.  The rink will open to the public at 8PM and the first hour will be free.

The rink will be open 12PM - 9PM Saturdays and Sundays and 3PM - 9PM Mondays - Fridays through February 17, 2008.  The cost is $15 for adults and $12 for children under 12.  There is a discount offered to groups of 20 or more.  Season passes are also available.

There will be another outdoor skating rink at the Galleria Mall  near Sunset Station. It will be open from November 23 - January 1.   There will be weekly drawings, on Sundays, between 2PM - 4PM with prizes including store gift cards and photos with Santa.  So after a rough day of shopping in the mall, you can head to the rink for some family fun.

Linda:Yes, ice skating, not ice fishing!  (Read Sally's post right after yours) LOL!

Sally: That was my reaction the first time I heard about it!

I agree, that just seems wrong! Ice in Vegas should only be in my drink!
